Initially the project began on the construction of an entirely fictional story recounting the quest of a mysterious character (Earla Brown). Around the empty and dark Canadian country side we are catching details, looking for evidence of Earla while getting lost around the empty roads and abandoned old farms. The black and white photographs communicates a feeling from a classic Hollywood film noir from the 50s, holding the viewer within the mysterious narration of Earla Brown, whereas the colours images shot in the same area transmits a different atmosphere. Exposing us to a more realistic world, showing another side of the area, a tourist trivial town made of plastic, colours sandals and miniatures. Together the series question the status of photography: An insidious medium, which frequently misleads us between the limits of reality and fiction.
